Eric Schlich is an Assistant Professor in the Department of English at the University of Memphis. He holds a B.A. in English and Spanish from the University of Kentucky, an MFA in Creative Writing from Bowling Green State University, and a PhD in Creative Writing from Florida State University. His work focuses on innovative narrative techniques and explores themes in contemporary fiction, with a particular emphasis on character dynamics and experimental forms.
His notable publications include the novel *Eli Harpo's Adventure to the Afterlife* (2024) and the story collection *Quantum Convention* (2018), which won major awards. His fiction has appeared in prestigious journals like *American Short Fiction*, *Crazyhorse*, and *Gulf Coast*. Schlich has received residencies at Ragdale, Vermont Studio Center, and the Hambidge Center, and a Tennessee Williams Scholarship.
His research interests span creative writing pedagogy, narrative innovation, and the intersection of literary fiction with modern themes. He currently serves as a Nonfiction and Production Editor for *The Southeast Review*.
