- Former professor at ETH Zürich and Yale University
Research interests include:
- Soft Matter Physics
- Biomechanics
- Colloids and Interfacial Science
- Mechanics of Biological Materials
- Molecular and Cellular Engineering
His recent publications explore phase-separated droplets, elastic microphase separation, and geometrical frustration in diatom frustules, reflecting interdisciplinary trends at the intersection of biophysics and materials science. Scientific awards include the American Physical Society Fellowship and Yale’s Graduate Mentor Award. He leads the Laboratory of Soft and Living Materials, which develops robust bicontinuous materials and studies non-specific adhesive forces in cellular systems.
