Eric Ramirez-Weaver is an Associate Professor in the Department of Art History at the University of Virginia, where he also serves as Director of Undergraduate Program in Art History. His email contact is emr6m@virginia.edu.

Research Focus: Ramirez-Weaver investigates the convergence of theology, philosophy, and science in medieval art, specializing in Carolingian manuscript illumination and late-Gothic Bohemian court painting. His work examines celestial imagery in illuminated manuscripts, particularly astronomical and philosophical texts from 3rd–15th centuries.
Publications: His first book Saving Science: Capturing the Heavens in Carolingian Manuscripts (Pennsylvania State University Press, 2017) reinterprets the Handbook of 809 and classical constellations in medieval contexts. His second project Signs of Power: Astrology, Cosmology, and Philosophy in Late Medieval Prague explores astrological manuscripts during Wenceslas IV's reign.
