Eric Pankey is a Professor of English and the Heritage Chair in Writing at George Mason University. As both a poet and visual artist, his interdisciplinary practice bridges literary and artistic traditions.
- Education: MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Iowa (1983)
His research focuses on modern and contemporary poetry, prose poetry, and interdisciplinary artistic expression. His creative nonfiction and critical essays explore intersections of spirituality, materiality, and memory.
Recent publications include The History of the Siege (Codhill Press 2024) and Vanishments (Slant Books 2024), continuing his investigation into ephemeral themes, ritualistic imagery, and existential abstraction.
