معرفی
Eric Mcinnes is a Professor of Inorganic Chemistry at The University of Manchester, leading the Manchester Molecular Magnetism Group. He holds a Chair in Inorganic Chemistry since 2007 and is Co-Director of the UK National EPR Facility, offering advanced EPR capabilities for UK researchers. His research focuses on molecular magnetic materials, including d- and f-block coordination compounds, exploring applications in quantum information, magnetic memory effects, and magnetocaloric cooling.
Education: BSc (Edinburgh, 1992), PhD (Edinburgh, 1995). Postdoctoral roles included positions at Manchester and the University of East Anglia before returning to Manchester in 2000.
Research Highlights:
- Design of single-molecule magnets and magnetocaloric materials
- Development of EPR methodologies for molecular magnetism studies
- Collaborations with global physicists for advanced material characterization
Awards:
- Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh (2019)
Grants:
- EPSRC-funded project on enhancing sustainability of EPR research infrastructure (2024–2026)
Labs/Teams: Leads the Molecular Magnetism Group and contributes to the Photon Science Institute. Active in dataset curation (e.g., CCDC crystal structure depositions).
