Eric Masson is Professor and Department Chair of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Ohio University's College of Arts and Sciences. He received his PhD from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (EPFL) and conducts interdisciplinary research in supramolecular chemistry with focus on cucurbituril macrocycles and their applications.
His group develops novel host-guest systems for supramolecular catalysis, drug delivery, and nanomaterials. Research integrates synthetic chemistry, physical organic chemistry, and materials science to create functional molecular systems with precisely controlled recognition properties.
Masson has published extensively on cucurbituril chemistry, molecular machines, and self-assembly processes. He co-organized the 6th International Conference on Cucurbiturils and leads research developing new characterization methods for rare-earth molecular systems.
