Eric F. Mason serves as Julius R. Mantey Chair of Biblical Studies at Judson University, where he holds a joint appointment as Professor of Biblical Studies. An ordained minister in the American Baptist Churches USA, he teaches New Testament, Second Temple Judaism, and biblical languages. His scholarship focuses on Hebrews, the Catholic Epistles, and the Dead Sea Scrolls.
Research examines messianism in early Jewish and Christian thought, Melchizedek traditions, and ancient interpretive strategies. Current projects investigate golden calf motifs in early Judaism and Christianity, heavenly sanctuary concepts in Hebrews, and Second Temple angelology. Recent publications explore intertextual relationships between New Testament writings and Jewish traditions.
Publications reflect expertise in Hebrews exegesis, Dead Sea Scrolls scholarship, and reception history of biblical traditions across Jewish and Christian communities.
