Eric Luth

Eric Luth is Associate Professor of Biology and Neuroscience Coordinator at Simmons University, leading research on neuronal development, Parkinson's disease mechanisms, and neurotoxicology using C. elegans models. His laboratory employs molecular genetics, optogenetics, and behavioral analysis to investigate synapse formation and environmental impacts on neural function.

Research examines cellular mechanisms of neurological diseases, particularly Parkinson's-related dopaminergic degeneration, and the neurotoxic effects of PFAS chemicals. Current projects include CRISPR-based investigation of spastin's neuroprotective functions and PFAS impacts on glutamate signaling.
