Eric Lormand is an Associate Professor in the Department of Philosophy at the University of Michigan's College of Literature, Science, and the Arts. His research focuses on mental phenomena that challenge cognitive science, including consciousness, qualia, self-knowledge, meaning, mental representation, emotions, skills, and rationality.

- B.A. in Philosophy/Cognitive Studies and B.S. in Mathematics/Computer Science (1986), Tulane University
Current research interests include the epistemic justification of logic, inference to the best explanation, and evaluations, with connections to phenomenology and metaphysics.
