Eric Euchler

Dr. Eric Euchler serves as Research Group Leader for Mechanics and Structure of Elastomeric Materials at the Leibniz Institute for Polymer Research Dresden within the Engineering Science of Polymer Materials division. His work focuses on multi-scale mechanical characterization of elastomeric materials with applications across industrial sectors.

His research program encompasses:

• Thermo-mechanical and dynamic-mechanical characterization techniques
• Fracture mechanical analysis of polymer failure mechanisms
• Micrometer-scale mechanical testing using X-ray microtomography
• Real-time structure analysis during deformation via synchrotron radiation
• Computational modeling of mechanical behavior across length scales

Dr. Euchler contributes to the international polymer community as Section Editor for Polymer Bulletin (Springer) managing the Topical Collection "Advanced Testing of Soft Polymer Materials" and co-organized the GUMFERENCE 2022 conference. His research bridges fundamental material properties with industrial applications in automotive, medical devices, and sealing technologies where elastomer performance is critical.
