Dr. Eric E Rasmussen is a Professor in the Department of Public Relations & Strategic Communication Management at Texas Tech University's College of Media & Communication. His research focuses on children and media, particularly parental mediation's role in shaping children's developmental outcomes through media exposure. He holds a Ph.D. from The Ohio State University (2013) and an M.A. from Brigham Young University (2004).
His work has been published in top journals like Journal of Communication and Developmental Psychology, and he has received notable awards including the 2017 Texas Tech Alumni Association New Faculty Award and the 2016 Billy I. Ross Mass Communications Faculty Achievement Award. His research examines topics ranging from media's impact on emotional competence in preschoolers to gender roles in country music.
