Research Interests: Malinda’s work bridges developmental psychology, educational interventions, and nutritional impacts. She examines how built environments (e.g., Outdoor Learning Environments) influence child health and academic readiness, and explores media’s role in socio-emotional growth. Her Malawi project combines nutrition with developmental outcomes, while her OLE! initiative promotes inclusive outdoor learning spaces.

Recent work emphasizes environmental design’s role in child development, with earlier studies focusing on foster care possessions, autism interventions, and emotional competence.
Additional Roles: She contributes to community outreach via STEM CORE’s K-12 programs, summer initiatives, and multidisciplinary research collaborations.
