Dr. Dahlen's research explores the intersection of personality, aggression, and mental health. He investigates how traits like psychopathy and narcissism contribute to cyber aggression perpetration, examining mechanisms such as moral disengagement. His work also addresses the impact of parenting behaviors on emerging adults' mental health and criminogenic thinking. Additionally, he has contributed to anger management interventions and forensic mental health evaluations.
Recent publications highlight his focus on cyber aggression, racial bias in legal contexts, PTSD-alcohol interactions, and career decision-making. He leads the Anger and Personality Lab, which studies these dynamics through empirical and clinical lenses.
Professional affiliations include the American Psychological Association, Society for the Teaching of Psychology, and National Anger Management Association.
