Eric Cha-Beach

Eric Cha-Beach serves as a performer-in-residence at Princeton University and has been a core member of the internationally acclaimed percussion ensemble Sō Percussion since 2007. He co-directs the So Percussion Summer Institute at Princeton and leads a percussion program at the Bard College Conservatory of Music, maintaining active performance and compositional roles across multiple institutions.

His educational foundation includes:

Cha-Beach's creative practice centers on innovative percussion performance and composition, blending acoustic and electronic elements through interdisciplinary collaborations with dance, visual art, and site-specific installations. His work explores the boundaries of traditional instrumentation, often incorporating technology and spatial design to create immersive audience experiences that redefine contemporary music performance.

His achievements include recognition through the Yale Gordon Concerto Competition and a Fulbright fellowship.

Through the So Percussion Summer Institute, he mentors emerging percussionists in intensive pedagogical settings, while maintaining an active international performance schedule with Sō Percussion and the bass/percussion duo Druid Hill.
