Eric A. Meyerowitz, MD, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and an attending physician at Montefiore Einstein. His clinical focus includes HIV, chronic viral infections (e.g., HTLV-1), mycobacterial infections, and sexually transmitted infections. He specializes in PrEP/doxy-PEP for at-risk populations and has expertise in gender-affirming care and mpox virus management. Dr. Meyerowitz earned his MD from the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, followed by training in infectious diseases at Massachusetts General Hospital. His research spans HIV prevention strategies, HTLV-1 treatments, and STI implementation science.
Education: BA in Chemistry from Harvard (2010), MD from University of Pennsylvania (2015), Residency at University of Washington (2018), Fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital (2020). Board certified in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases. Member of the Infectious Diseases Society of America.
Research interests include antiviral therapies for SARS-CoV-2, mycobacterial treatment trials, and improving care for marginalized populations. He has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals and received the 2022 Infectious Diseases Fellow Teaching Award.
Clinic locations include Montefiore Medical Center’s Oval Center, Center for Positive Living, and Moses Campus inpatient services. Collaborates on vaccine equity programs and mpox outbreak responses.
