Erdem Başçı is a Professor at the Department of Economics, TED University. His academic career includes roles as Assistant Professor (1996–2003) and Associate Professor (promoted 1999) at Bilkent University. He has held significant positions such as Deputy Governor (2003–2011) and Governor (2011–2016) of the Central Bank of Turkey, followed by service as Turkey's Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the OECD (2016–2021).
