Professor Eoin Reeves is a faculty member at the Department of Economics within the Kemmy Business School at the University of Limerick. He serves as Director of the Privatisation and PPP Research Group and has published over 60 works in international peer-reviewed journals and edited books. His roles include former Head of the Department of Economics (2016-2021), Assistant Dean, Research (1999-2003), and Director of the M.Sc. in Economic Analysis (2012-2016).

Eoin’s research focuses on infrastructure economics, privatisation, public-private partnerships (PPPs), liberalisation, and economic inequality. His work analyses the public-private mix in service delivery, including PPPs in schools and water services, and explores transaction cost economics, regulatory frameworks, and state capitalism.
His publications include longitudinal studies of Ireland’s PPP governance, dynamics of remunicipalisation, and hybrid state-private models in telecommunications. He co-authored the book Privatisation in Ireland: Lessons from a European Economy (Palgrave MacMillan, 2011).
Eoin has secured grants from the Irish Research Council (IRC), Erasmus Mundus, and UL Seed Funding. He has advised Irish parliamentary committees, local authorities, and trade unions on privatisation and public service regulation.
He is co-editor of the Annals of Public and Co-operative Economics and was appointed President of the International Scientific Commission on Public Services/Public Enterprise at CIRIEC in 2022. His work aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly in public service innovation and equity.
