Dr. Enzo Curti is a Scientist at the Laboratory for Waste Management (LES) within the PSI Center for Nuclear Engineering and Sciences at the Paul Scherrer Institute (PSI) in Switzerland. He has held this position since 1988. His expertise spans radioactive waste disposal, nuclear waste matrix chemistry, and geochemical processes.
Education:
- Ph.D. in Isotope Geochemistry, ETH Zurich (1982–1986)
- Diploma in Geological Sciences, ETH Zurich (1979–1982)
- Postdoctoral Research at the Geological Institute, University of Oslo (1987–1988)
Research Interests: Focuses on dissolution kinetics of nuclear waste matrices (e.g., glass, spent fuel), chemical thermodynamics of aqueous/ solid solutions, and mineral dissolution-precipitation reactions. Utilizes X-ray spectroscopy for material characterization.
Recent Work: His 2020 publication explores oxygen potential calculations for uranium dioxide fuels, advancing understanding of nuclear fuel behavior under varying conditions.
Labs/Teams: Active in the LES, contributing to PSI’s nuclear waste management initiatives.
