معرفی
Enrico N. Martinez is a Professor of Engineering Practice at Purdue University's Davidson School of Chemical Engineering. He joined Purdue in 2009 and serves as Associate Director of the Purdue Mexico Center for Sustainability (PMCS), fostering collaborations in bioenergy, nanotechnology, disaster engineering, and water management. His research focuses on renewable energy solutions, including biodiesel production from nonconventional sources like Jatropha Curcas and spent coffee grounds, jet fuel development from nonedible oils, and lignin conversion to fuels and chemicals.
- Educations:
- B.S. Chemical Engineering (National University, Mexico, 1968)
- M.S. and Ph.D. Chemical Engineering (University of Notre Dame, 1969 and 1972)
His research interests span sustainable chemical processes, catalysis, and materials science. Recent work includes refining kinetic models for hydrodeoxygenation and developing carbon anodes from coffee oil waste. He has advised multiple graduate students and postdoctoral researchers, contributing to over 30 peer-reviewed publications.
- Awards:
- 2014 Purdue Engineering Staff Team Award
- IISRP Technical Award (2008)
- National Technology Award (Mexico, 2001)
- National Researcher-Technologist Level III (2003)
He leads the PMCS and collaborates with Mexican institutions on sustainability initiatives. His grants include funding for bioenergy research and material innovation projects.
