معرفی
Enoch Lok Him Yuen is a Researcher at Imperial College London's Department of Life Sciences (Faculty of Natural Sciences). He holds a PhD in Life Sciences Research from Imperial College London, an MPhil in Management from the University of Cambridge, and a BSc in Biological Sciences from Imperial College London.
Research Interests
His work focuses on molecular mechanisms of plant immunity, particularly plant-microbe interactions, pathogen effector proteins, and membrane trafficking dynamics. Key areas include chloroplast-mediated immunity, RabGAP protein functions, and engineering disease resistance proteins.
Awards
- Academic Performance Prize (2019)
- Convenors' Prize in Advanced Immunology
- Convenors' Prize in Symbiosis, Plant Immunity and Disease
Recent Contributions
Recent work includes uncovering how pathogen effectors hijack host RabGAP proteins to suppress immunity, and developing strategies to resurrect disease resistance proteins via NLR engineering. His research bridges fundamental biology with practical crop protection applications.
Grants & Talks
Recipient of multiple travel grants including the IS-MPMI Shimamoto Award (2023) and BSPP Travel Grant (2023). Presented at major conferences including the 2025 International Molecular Plant-Microbe Interactions Congress and the EMBO Workshop on Plant Immunity.
