Dr. Enoch Jacobus is a Tenured Associate Professor of Music Theory at Shorter University, where he coordinates the Music Theory Area. He teaches courses in music theory, aural skills, orchestration, and composition.

- Ph.D. in Music Theory from University of Kentucky (2012) with dissertation on geometric harmonic models
His research focuses on Truth, Beauty, and Goodness in the arts, music theory pedagogy, and ludomusicology. He explores neo-Riemannian theory, graphical harmonic representations, and historical polyphony while connecting these concepts to contemporary media like video games and films.
Dr. Jacobus’s recent publications and presentations examine interactive game soundtracks, audiovisual aesthetics, and pedagogical frameworks combining music theory with classical rhetoric. He has contributed to Engaging Students: Essays in Music Pedagogy and developed resources for lay audiences on plainchant singing.
He lives in Rome, GA with his family and enjoys loose-leaf tea, tabletop games, bow ties, and playing unusual instruments.
