Engy Abdellatif

Engy Abdellatif serves as Honorary Senior Lecturer in Pathology at Anglia Ruskin University's School of Medicine. She is a practicing histopathologist with experience in both NHS and pharmaceutical industry settings, and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. Her academic appointment is based at the Medical Technology Research Centre in Chelmsford.

Abdellatif's research focuses on diagnostic methods for infections involving the musculoskeletal system. Her PhD investigated novel diagnostics for septic arthritis, resulting in new diagnostic approaches and reevaluation of existing tests. She serves as expert reviewer for the Clinical Trials Pathology Advisory Group (CT-PAG) of the National Cancer Research Network, UK.

She has made significant scholarly contributions as co-author of the Bone and Soft Tissue Pathology section for PathologyOutlines.com and as textbook author. She reviews for British Medical Journal Case Reports and Pathology journal.

Professional memberships include Academy of Medical Educators, Pathological Society of Great Britain and Ireland, European Society of Pathology, International Society of Bone and Soft Tissue Pathology, and International Society of Antimicrobial and Chemotherapeutics. She previously served in leadership roles including BMA Speciality and Associate Specialist doctors committee representative and GMC associate examiner.
