Enas Kandil, M.D., M.Sc., FIPP, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Management at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She earned her medical degree from Cairo University, completed an anesthesiology residency at Case Western Reserve University, and a pain management fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. She also holds a Master of Clinical Science from UT Southwestern (2015). Certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology in both anesthesia and pain management, she has been at UT Southwestern since 2004.
Her research focuses on neuropathic pain mechanisms, non-opioid treatments, in-silico analysis, and repurposing FDA-approved drugs. She collaborates with basic science teams at UT Southwestern and UT Dallas. She leads opioid safety initiatives at UT Southwestern and Parkland Health & Hospital System to regulate prescribing practices and ensure compliance.
Dr. Kandil serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Anesthesia and Clinical Research and belongs to organizations like the American Society of Anesthesiologists. She has conducted externally funded research, presented regionally/nationally, and published extensively.
