Emy Lindberg is an Affiliated Researcher in the Department of Cultural Anthropology and Ethnology at Uppsala University. Her research focuses on migration, globalization, and transnational dynamics, particularly in the context of West Africa and Sweden.

Research Interests: Lindberg's work centers on migration and globalization, with a focus on football migration between Ghana and Sweden. She explores themes including dreams and aspirations, time, transnational family structures, racialization, postcolonial dynamics, gender, and the political economy of the global football industry. Her ethnographic approach provides deep insights into the lived experiences of migrants.
Publications: Her recent publications include a 2023 ethnography on football migration, and several works from 2013-2014 on labor markets in Liberia, conflict in Mali, and post-war reconstruction. These span the disciplines of anthropology, migration studies, and African studies, highlighting the intersection of sports, labor, and conflict in West Africa.
