Assoc. Prof. Emre ERGÜL holds a position at İzmir University of Economics' Faculty of Fine Arts and Design, specializing in Interior Architecture and Environmental Design. He serves as Acting Head of the Graduate School of Social Sciences Yacht Design Master Program and consultant for university projects. His career includes roles at Dokuz Eylül University and İzmir Institute of Technology before joining İzmir University of Economics in 2007.

Research Interests: Prof. ERGÜL focuses on Ottoman urban patterns, particularly the evolution of Ottoman housing in Anatolian cities. His work extends to computer-aided design innovations and transformable structural systems. He has contributed to architectural conservation projects and maritime design, notably in yacht and ferry design.
Recent projects include accessibility guidelines for marine transport and studies on Levantine communities in İzmir. His research bridges historical analysis with modern design challenges.
