Emmanuelle ROUHAUD is a Professor at the University of Technology of Troyes (UTT) in France, where she has been working since 1994 and was promoted to full Professor in 2017. She is affiliated with the Automatic Mesh Generation & Advanced Methods (GAMMA3) research unit, focusing on computational mechanics and advanced numerical methods.
Her educational background includes a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Washington University in Saint-Louis (1993), supported by a National Science Foundation Research Assistantship, and an Engineering Degree in Biological Engineering from Université de technologie de Compiègne (1990).
Dr. ROUHAUD's research centers on space-time formalism for finite transformations and residual stress analysis in manufacturing processes. She has developed observer-independent physical frameworks applying principles from the Theory of Relativity to continuum mechanics, with applications to hyperelasticity, viscoelasticity, and elastoplasticity. Her work on shot peening and residual stress optimization has significant implications for automotive and aerospace industries.
Her publication record shows consistent innovation, with recent work (2021-2024) advancing covariant formulations for thermo-hyperelasticity and nonlinear string dynamics. Her 2016 paper on shot peening simulation was among the most downloaded articles in Comptes Rendus Mécanique as of January 2020.
