Emmanuel Trizac

Emmanuel Trizac is a Professor at the University of Paris-Saclay, affiliated with the Laboratory of Theoretical Physics and Statistical Models (LPTMS), a joint research unit of CNRS and University Paris-Saclay. He currently serves as President of ENS de Lyon since 2023, after previously serving as Vice-Dean of Research at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Paris-Saclay (2021-2023) and Director of LPTMS (2012-2021).

His educational background includes a PhD in physics from Ens Lyon (1994-1997), a Maîtrise and Magistère in physics, and a Diploma of Advanced Studies in Statistical Physics and Non-Linear Phenomena from University of Lyon I and Ens Lyon (1991-1994).

Trizac's research focuses on Statistical Physics, with particular expertise in Soft Condensed Matter, Complex Fluids, Granular Matter, and Non-Equilibrium Processes. His work spans theoretical approaches to understanding complex phenomena in various areas of physics.

He has held significant academic positions including membership in the Institut Universitaire de France (2008-2013), and has served as head of the Complex Systems Master's program for Paris-Saclay (2006-2021).
