Emmanuel Picavet

Emmanuel Picavet is a Professor of Philosophy (Applied Ethics) at the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, affiliated with the Institute of Legal and Philosophical Sciences of the Sorbonne (ISJPS) and the Faculty of Philosophy. His research focuses on applied ethics, economic philosophy, and CSR, with expertise in standards, institutional governance, and responsible regulation. He co-directs the Revue de philosophie économique and holds international roles in the French Philosophical Society and FISP. His current research includes CSR initiatives, environmental standards, and ethics in finance.

Education: Thesis directed by Prof. Bertrand Saint-Sernin (Institut de France) on 'Rational Choice and Public Life.'

Research Themes: Standards and Responsible Regulation, CSR-driven institutional ethics, and environmental norms in climate disasters. Co-leads the CSR axis in ISJPS and chairs the NECC working group under LabEx DYNAMITE.

Teaching Includes: Moral and Political Philosophy, Economic Philosophy, Applied Ethics, and CSR at the M2 level.

Advising: Supervises multiple Ph.D. students, including international co-supervisions with Canadian universities. Active in thesis supervision on applied ethics topics.
