Emmanuel Johnson

Emmanuel Johnson is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Coventry University's Centre for Global Learning, with a Visiting Research Fellowship at the University of Warwick (2023–2026). His work focuses on African student experiences, diasporic identities, and creative research methods like film and poetry. He holds a Doctorate from Coventry University (2023), an MA in Communication, Culture and Media (2018), and a BA in Media and Communications (2016).

Johnson’s research emphasizes accessibility, authenticity, and lived experiences, particularly through art-based methodologies. His projects include exploring educational leadership (LIDER Fellowship), accelerated learning in the Global South, and challenging epistemic injustice in academia.

He has received awards including Best Film Editor (2015) and Source TV Member of the Year (2016). His media engagements include film screenings of Becoming Nigerian and a YouTube reflection on his PhD journey titled Emmanuel Johnson Reflects on his PhD Experience.
