Emmanouil Pountourakis is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the College of Computing & Informatics, Drexel University. He holds a PhD in Computer Science from Northwestern University and completed postdoctoral research at the University of Texas at Austin and the Simons Institute for the Theory of Computing.
His research lies at the intersection of theoretical computer science and economics, with a focus on algorithmic game theory and algorithmic mechanism design. His work contributes to the foundational understanding of strategic behavior in computational systems, influencing areas such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, and multi-agent robotics.
Pountourakis's research spans the theoretical foundations of computer science, particularly in designing algorithms that account for self-interested agents. His affiliations with leading research institutions highlight his engagement with cutting-edge developments in real-time decision making and wireless network communications from a theoretical perspective.
Prior to his faculty position, he was a postdoctoral fellow in the Wireless Network and Communications Group at the University of Texas at Austin and a research fellow in the Spring 2018 Real Time Decision Making program at the Simons Institute for the Theory of Computing. Although no formal advisees or grants are listed, his academic trajectory reflects strong research mentorship and collaborative opportunities.
