Prof Emma Wild-Wood is a Professor of African Religions and World Christianity at the University of Edinburgh's School of Divinity. She serves as Co-director of the Centre for the Study of World Christianity. Previously, she was Director of the Cambridge Centre for Christianity Worldwide and held roles in academia and teaching in DR Congo and Uganda. Her qualifications include a BD (hons), MTh, and PhD from Edinburgh. She is affiliated with multiple editorial boards, including 'Studies in World Christianity', 'Journal of African Religion', and others.
Her research focuses on African religious dynamics, global Christianity, and mission studies. She co-edits the book series 'Transforming Religion in Africa' and contributes to interdisciplinary dialogues on religion's role in postcolonial contexts. Her editorial work spans journals addressing religious history, comparative religion, and African Christianity.
Prof Wild-Wood’s academic service includes roles at the Royal Historical Society and Higher Education Academy. She actively supervises PhD students and teaches in global religious studies.
