Emma Swinn MBE serves as Co-Director of SAPERE (Society for the Advancement of Philosophical Enquiry and Reflection in Education), holding the title Director of Operations and Development alongside Grace Lockrobin. She maintains an academic affiliation as Visiting Research Associate at King's College London and holds leadership roles including President of SOPHIA: The European Foundation for the Advancement of Philosophy with Children, Non-Executive Director of Thinking Space CIC, and Advisory Board member for the Centre for Philosophy of Natural and Social Science at LSE.
Her research centers on Philosophy for Children (P4C) and philosophical inquiry in educational settings, with two decades of innovation in school-based philosophy programs. She actively bridges academic theory and practical implementation through organizational leadership, publications, and international collaboration, emphasizing accessible philosophical engagement for young learners.
Emma's contributions have earned significant recognition:
