معرفی
Emma Sparr is Professor in Physical Chemistry-Colloidal Biology and deputy head of the Division of Physical Chemistry at Lund University's Science Faculty, with continuous faculty service since 2004. She leads research in membrane dynamics and colloidal systems while holding significant leadership roles including Deputy Head of Division (2016-2020) and Director of the Linnaeus Research Center Organizing Molecular Matter.
Education:
- PhD in Physical Chemistry, Lund University (2001)
- MSc in Chemistry, Lund University & University of Cambridge (1996)
Her research spans Physical Chemistry and Colloidal Biology with focus on membrane barrier properties, amyloid-lipid interactions, and osmotic stress protection mechanisms. Key projects examine skin diffusion barriers, lung surfactant dynamics, RNA assembly at bilayers, and drying interfaces through interdisciplinary soft matter approaches.
Scientific Recognition:
- Member of Young Academy of Sweden (2011-2016)
- Future Research Leader, Swedish Foundation for Strategic Research (2008-2013)
Professor Sparr directs major research initiatives including two Wallenberg projects (2015-2020) on peptide-lipid co-assembly and colloidal anisotropy, and previously led the Linnaeus Center OMM (2012-2016). She chairs review panels for the Swedish Research Council and serves on Multipark's steering group, demonstrating sustained leadership in Swedish physical chemistry.
As a LINXS Dynamics Working Group member, she advances collaborative research on membrane constituent dynamics within Lund's strategic research ecosystem.
