Emma Sepmeier serves as an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Music (Horn) at Carthage College, with concurrent faculty appointments at the Merit School of Music and Music Institute of Chicago. Her performance career includes engagements with:

- Illinois Philharmonic
- Sacred Music Series at Notre Dame
- Millar Brass Ensemble
- South Bend Symphony Orchestra
- Illinois Symphony Orchestra
- Chicago Jazz Philharmonic
She extends her pedagogical work to youth symphonies in Chicago, Boston, and Milwaukee, plus the Chicago High School of the Arts and People’s Music School, emphasizing student-centered horn instruction developed under Eric Ruske and Greg Flint.
Her professional focus spans Horn Performance, Music Education, Chamber Music, and Wind Instrument Instruction, with active contributions through arranging music for flexible chamber ensembles to expand repertoire accessibility.
Ms. Sepmeier mentors students across diverse institutional settings, fostering individual artistic development through personalized teaching approaches. Her performance-teaching synergy demonstrates deep commitment to advancing horn pedagogy and performance practice.
Outside academia, she enjoys culinary pursuits and family time with her husband Kurt and daughters Thalia and Maeve.
