Emma Quinn is an Assistant Professor and Learning and Curricular Services Librarian at St. John’s University’s University Libraries. Her work bridges library science, education, and historical research. She holds an MS in Library and Information Sciences from Long Island University, an MA in Irish and Irish-American Studies from New York University, and a BA in History and Theology from Fordham University.
Her research focuses on information literacy, inclusive pedagogy, open access resources, and the history of gender/sexuality in Ireland and Irish diaspora communities. Recently, she has explored topics such as the Carrigan Report’s impact on Irish professional women and the intersection of AIDS activism with Irish-American Catholic identity in New York City during the 1980s-1990s.
Her publications include forthcoming works in History Ireland and the NYU Dual-Degree Journal, alongside a 2019 article in the Fordham Undergraduate Research Journal. She has presented at conferences including the American Conference for Irish Studies and LOEX, focusing on themes ranging from library resource accessibility to historical case studies of Catholic institutions and identity formation.
No scientific awards have been noted. Her professional trajectory includes prior roles as a paralegal in immigration law and an educator at the Lower East Side Tenement Museum, which inform her interdisciplinary approach to institutional history and public engagement.
