Emma Park is an Assistant Professor of History at The New School for Social Research and Eugene Lang College of Liberal Arts, teaching courses on modern Africa, science and technology, global capitalism, and development history. Her research examines infrastructure projects in Kenya, exploring intersections of austerity, state-building, and marketization.

Her forthcoming book Infrastructural Attachments challenges narratives of infrastructures as apolitical, highlighting Kenyan workers' contributions to global infrastructural expertise. She co-authors works with Kevin P. Donovan, including the monograph Parastatal: Intimacy & Value in Digital Kenya, and is developing a new project on Kenya's monetary regimes.
Her publications analyze digital finance (M-PESA), corporate sovereignty (Safaricom), and data economies in Africa. Awards include the Earl Lewis Award (2017), multiple University of Michigan fellowships, and Mellon-Funded Sawyer Seminar recognition (2021-2022).
