Emma Niméus is a researcher and associate professor at Lund University, specializing in Medical Oncology through her work at the Lund University Cancer Centre (LUCC). She holds dual qualifications as an MD (Doctor of Medicine) and PhD, combining clinical expertise with advanced proteogenomic research. As a principal investigator and project manager, she leads studies on breast cancer recurrence prediction.
Her research focuses on proteogenomic strategies to identify biomarkers for local recurrence (LR) in breast cancer patients. By integrating DNA sequencing, mass spectrometry, and immunohistochemistry (TMA), she develops clinical tools to assess recurrence risk. Recent work explores AI algorithms for tumor-infiltrating lymphocyte (TIL) scoring and radiosensitization targets like PFKFB3.
Key publication trends include: 1) Proteogenomic profiling of epithelial stem cell dynamics, 2) Clinical proteome mapping across tissue types, 3) Machine learning validation in oncology diagnostics, and 4) Mechanistic insights into endocrine resistance.
