Dr. Emma Muhlack is an Associate Lecturer in the School of Public Health at the University of Adelaide, within the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences. She specializes in the sociology of recreational drug and alcohol use, public health ethics, and health communication. Her research focuses on qualitative and ethical aspects of substance use, including the social implications of alcohol consumption and the ethics of public health policies. Dr. Muhlack teaches courses in health communication, academic literacy, and health ethics, and is eligible to supervise Masters and PhD students as a co-supervisor. She completed her PhD examining ethical justifications for interventions targeting low-risk drinkers, under the supervision of Professors Jaklin Eliott, Drew Carter, and Annette Braunack-Mayer. Current research interests include systematic reviews on drug user information-seeking behaviors and identity formation through substance use.
