Emma Jackson is a Senior Lecturer at Goldsmiths, University of London, affiliated with the Centre for Urban and Community Research (CUCR). Her research focuses on urban sociology, gentrification, and social inequality, with a particular interest in how spaces of leisure and everyday life reflect and shape cultural dynamics. She holds a PhD from Goldsmiths (2010) and has authored/co-authored numerous books including Young Homeless People and Urban Space: Fixed in Mobility (2015) and edited volumes such as Writing Walking (2023). Her work explores themes like urban multiculture, xenophobia, and the role of sensory ethnography in understanding place-making. Recent projects include studies on Peckham’s vertical transformation and riverside communities in Lewisham. Jackson has published widely in journals like Sociology, Urban Studies, and European Journal of Cultural Studies.
