Emma Haglund is a Senior Lecturer at Halmstad University, affiliated with the School of Business, Innovation and Sustainability. She holds dual roles as an Associate Professor in Biomedicine (Physical Activity and Exercise) and Program Manager for the Biomedicine – Exercise Physiology bachelor’s program. She is a physiotherapist specializing in rheumatology, with affiliations to multiple research groups including the Movement for Health and Performance (M4HP), Exercise Biomedicine Group (ExBiG), and Spenshult’s Arthritis Group at Lund University/Rheumatology.
Her research focuses on musculoskeletal health, studying diseases like rheumatological conditions and osteoarthritis, emphasizing physical function, lifestyle factors, and exercise efficacy. Key projects include high-intensity interval training for inflammatory back pain, the Halland Osteoarthritis (HALLOA) cohort study, and exercise interventions for youth depression.
