Dr. Emma Cavell is a Senior Lecturer in History at Swansea University's Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. Her research focuses on the social history of medieval Britain (1000-1300), with particular emphasis on gender, legal systems, and Anglo-Welsh border dynamics. She is also
- Co-Director of the Swansea Centre for Medieval and Early Modern Research (MEMO)
- Historical consultant for Cadw's Caerphilly Castle redevelopment
- Fellow of the Royal Historical Society
