Emma Campbell is a Research Fellow at Queen’s University Belfast’s School of Natural and Built Environment, specialising in sustainable and resilient systems design. She leads projects on circular economy, climate regeneration, and nature-based solutions, collaborating with Belfast City Council and international partners. Her work integrates transdisciplinary approaches to address climate and biological emergencies.

Research focuses on circularity in urban infrastructure, co-design methodologies, and climate adaptation strategies. Notable projects include the UPSURGE initiative (EU Horizon 2020) and the Future Island-Island project (AHRC Green Transition Ecosystem). Awards include the 2023 Citizenship & Outreach Award and 2024 Associate Fellowship in Higher Education.
