معرفی
Emma Björk is a Senior Associate Professor at the Department of Physics, Chemistry and Biology (IFM) at Linköping University, specializing in nanoporous materials for drug delivery, sensing, and catalysis. Her research focuses on sol-gel synthesis and in situ characterization of materials with 2–50 nm pores and 500–1000 m²/g surface area.
Research Interests
- Development of nanoporous materials via sol-gel processes
- Understanding synthesis-parameter effects on material characteristics
- Applications in drug delivery, sensing, and catalysis
- Electrocatalytic thin films for energy systems
- Nanocellulose-based composites for biomedical uses
Scientific Awards
- Swedish Research Council Starting Grant (2021)
- Co-funding from Advanced Functional Materials initiative (2024)
Collaborations & Grants
Björk collaborates with Cellular Biologist Anna Fahlgren on orthopedic nanomaterials for hip implants and participates in WASP-WISE-funded projects (2025). She leads a 4-year passion project funded by her 2021 starting grant.
