Dr. Emma Agusita serves as a Senior Lecturer in Cultural Industries at the University of the West of England's Faculty of Arts, Creative Industries, and Education (ACE). With over two decades of experience as a collaborative academic-practitioner, she leads knowledge exchange initiatives and socially engaged research through co-creative methodologies, partnering with arts, education, and public service organizations across local, regional, and national contexts.

Emma's research centers on Cultural & Creative Entrepreneurship and Creative Entrepreneurship Education, employing Visual, Creative & Participatory Pedagogies to examine Civic & Community Media and Digital Communications Technologies. She investigates Creative Studies of Migration through the lens of separation and transnational relationships, emphasizing inclusive frameworks for underrepresented youth and community solidarity via co-creation.
Her project portfolio includes the ongoing Young People's Entrepreneurial Creative Practices (2021-present) developing talent pathways for marginalized youth, the award-winning documentary Proof of Love (2019-2020) on immigration policy impacts, and Unexpected Enterprises (2018-2019) analyzing non-traditional creative entrepreneurship. Earlier initiatives like Visualising Love (2017-18) and Media, Community and the Creative Citizen (2012-2015) established her expertise in participatory methodologies.
As an educator, Emma leads the Campaigns pathway in BA Media Communications and teaches MSc Sustainable Development in Practice. She excels in curriculum innovation, pedagogic research, and academic mentorship while supervising PhD and MSc candidates. Her enterprise education specialization bridges theory and practice across creative industries.
