Professor Emine Erktin teaches mathematics education at Bogazici University, specializing in metacognition, stress management, and self-regulation in educational settings. She has supervised numerous graduate theses on topics ranging from mathematical beliefs to teacher stress during curriculum reforms.
Her research examines the intersection of cognitive processes and mathematics achievement. Recent publications focus on STEM competency frameworks, metacognitive experiences in problem-solving, and mathematics homework design. She has developed assessment scales for mathematics behavior and coping strategies.
Dr. Erktin holds memberships in AERA (serving as Communications Chair for Stress and Coping SIG), EARLI, and ISLS. She organized the 19th International Conference for Stress and Anxiety Research Society at Bogazici University.
