Emily Rosko is a Professor and Director of Undergraduate Creative Writing at the Department of English, College of Charleston. She holds a Ph.D. in English and Creative Writing from the University of Missouri, an M.F.A. in Poetry from Cornell University, and a B.A. in English and Creative Writing with a minor in Philosophy from Purdue University.

Her research and teaching focus on poetry writing, the history of the lyric, poetics and genre theory, Shakespeare, and nature/science writing. She has authored three poetry collections and edited A Broken Thing: Poets on the Line, exploring structural and thematic boundaries in poetry.
Emily’s recent publications engage with interdisciplinary themes, including physics metaphors, environmental cycles, and identity. Her work often bridges personal reflection with broader philosophical and social commentary.
