Emily Olson serves as an Associate Professor and Quantitative Reasoning Coordinator in the School of Mathematics & Computational Sciences at Millikin University. She earned her doctorate from Michigan State University, specializing in enumerative combinatorics.
Her primary research interests include:
- Combinatorics, with a focus on enumerative methods
- Graph Theory and its applications
- Discrete Mathematics in educational contexts
Dr. Olson actively contributes to the academic community as the Section NExT coordinator for the Illinois Section of the Mathematical Association of America, fostering professional development for new faculty. She also leads the Quantitative Reasoning initiative at Millikin, integrating quantitative skills across the undergraduate curriculum.
