Emily Mann

Emily Mann, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor at the Arnold School of Public Health, University of South Carolina, specializing in reproductive health promotion through qualitative research and social theory. She has a joint appointment in the Department of Women’s and Gender Studies and co-directs the Carolina Consortium on Health, Inequalities, and Populations (CHIP).

• Contraceptive experiences of adolescents/young adults in the U.S. South
• Implications of “advanced maternal age” in maternal/child health
• Social processes shaping reproductive/parenting experiences
• Intersectional analysis of race, gender, and healthcare
• Biomedicalization of reproductive practices
• Health equity in Medicaid-insured populations
