She teaches courses such as Inst 205 (European Studies) and Hst 332 (Europe Since 1945), focusing on modern European and international history. She is revising a book manuscript, Without Distinction: Gender and Suffrage in the Modern French Empire, 1943-1974, examining suffrage debates across the French empire. A new project investigates science fiction's role in shaping imperial and anti-colonial ideologies. Fransee holds office at Bishop 310 and can be reached via fransee@olemiss.edu.
Her teaching spans European history courses from colonial to postcolonial contexts, including specialized seminars like Inst 421 (Research Seminar I). Courses emphasize historical analysis of decolonization, Cold War dynamics, and postcolonial identities. Advising focuses on guiding International Studies majors through research methodologies.
Research interests integrate transnational feminist movements, colonial archives, and intersections of gender/race in citizenship. Ongoing work highlights how colonial legacies permeate political frameworks and cultural narratives.
