Emily Levitan is a Professor of Epidemiology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), School of Public Health. She holds multiple appointments across UAB, including roles in the Graduate School, School of Medicine, and various research centers such as the Center for AIDS Research and the Center for Clinical and Translational Science. Her research focuses on cardiovascular disease prevention, long-term effects of HIV and COVID-19, and leveraging administrative data to improve public health outcomes. She leads projects like the REGARDS-MI study and the Deep South SARS-CoV-2 Recovery Cohort, contributing to the NIH RECOVER Initiative on long COVID. Dr. Levitan also serves as Vice Chairperson of the Epidemiology Department at UAB.
